Prepare your project
Keep samples inside the project folder so they travel with it, with steps for Ableton Live, FL Studio and Reaper.
StemHaus syncs the folder you chose, and only that folder. A sample that lives somewhere else on your computer is not part of the project as far as StemHaus is concerned, and your collaborator’s copy will miss it.
The fix is the same in every DAW: gather everything the project uses into the project folder before you push. Menu names change between versions, so treat these as a guide to what to look for.
Ableton Live
Choose File → Collect All and Save, and select what to collect. Live copies the samples the Set uses into its project folder.
FL Studio
Choose File → Export → Project data files… and export into your project’s folder. FL Studio copies the samples the project uses.
Reaper
Choose File → Save project as… and tick Copy all media into project directory. Reaper copies the project’s media next to the project file.
Other DAWs
Look for a command named something like collect, consolidate, gather or export project with audio. StemHaus syncs any project folder, even for programs it can’t read yet.
Plugins
Collaborators need the same plugins installed. StemHaus never uploads plugin files, but it lists the plugins a project uses under Inside this version (for Ableton Live, FL Studio and Reaper), so a collaborator can check before they open it.
If a plugin is the problem, a bounced or frozen track lets your collaborator hear what it did.
Keep it tidy
- One folder per project. Don’t choose a folder that holds all your projects.
- Delete takes and samples you never used before the first push. The folder’s size counts against your plan.
